has happened in the last few weeks, they sent the u.n. ambassador out to say this was because of a protest and a youtube video. it took the president two weeks to acknowledge that this was a terrorist attack. he went to the u.n. and in his speech at the u.n., he said six times, he talked about the urk tube video. look, if we are hit by terrorist, we are going to call it for what it is -- a terrorist attack. our ambassador in paris, has a marine detachment guarding him. shouldn't we have a marine detachment guarding our ambassador in benghazi,a i place where we knew there was an al qaeda cell with arms? this is becoming more troubling by the day. they first blamed the youtube video, now they are trying to blame the romney/ryan ticket for making this an issue. with respect to iraq, we have the same position before the withdrawal, which was, we agreed with the obama administration, let's have a status of forces agreement it make sure we secure our gains. the vice-president was put in charge of those negotiations by president obama and they failed to get the agreement. we don't ha

with his speech at the u.n. i raise that because the jewish vote does matter. let's be frank about it. more important or as important, and jewish money matters. the biggest giver in this campaign on the other side is they do, -- is a jew. the issue of israel is important as is always in u.s. foreign policy. how do you think that plays out in the election, particularly given that netanyahu has not been successful, but a significant number of jews who feel that obama has been disrespectful to netanyahu? >> let me back up on two quick points. i think it is important to distinguish the jewish money from pro-use real money. there are huge numbers of jews like me in the jewish community who have very diverse views on israel, who do not support u.s. military aid to israel, who don't support giving israel the kind of diplomatic support at the united nations, providing the kind of impunity for israeli war crimes. it is not about jewish money, but pro-israel money that we have to identify. the other point, as a quebecer, i think netanyahu has succeeded in one very import -- as a matter of course, i t

and mouse game. >>guest: it is. we had prime minister binyamin netanyahu go to the u.n. and he made his case at the u.n. for not letting this happen, his case to the global community and now we see iran, whether they are trying to assert how close israel might be to a strike or picking out targets they may want to hit in retaliation, but one thing that is important for people to realize, drones can be used for surveillance but they can be used to deliver weapons. there is a reason that israelis have gas masks that are handed out to the citizens. this is a real concern about that and we know syria has chemical weapons available. therefore it is likely they could end up in iranians hands and end up with hezbollah. >>shepard: the bigger concern going on what is -- going on in syria, that could throw things off. >>guest: certainly a ways that the iranian would like to divert attention about being the west against iran, is to make it islam against the little satan and the great satan, israel and the united states and turn this into a religious conflict globally. that is something we have to keep

, we know they knew it was terrorism within the first day. and yet, the president goes to the u.n. and says video, video, video. >> sean: they said it was spontaneous, lie. they said it was video, lie. the libyan president told us in day 1 and intelligence told them. the state department is saying, we knew it had nothing to do with the video. we knew it wasn't spontaneous. we have a major problem here. let me go back to biden and to this debate, for just a second here. because they have sequestered this guy for over a week now, preparing him, you know, i guess, you know, filling his head full of zingers, as they like to say, one-liners. you know, isn't there weakness? nobody in the media seems to be able to figure this out that they have a four-year record. it's a failed record. no matter what they say that -- congressman ryan gets to say -- why didn't do you that? this is what you did do. this is what we will do differently. it seems like a pretty easy formula. >> well, look, i think you are going to see that very directly. i think congressman ryan is going to bring up the failur

not be deployed without u.n. approval. then in the mid 1980's, he ran on the basis of cutting most of our major defense programs. in 1991, he voted against desert storm. it's a consistent pattern over time of always being on the wrong side of defense issues. a little tough talk in the midst of a campaign or as part of a presidential debate cannot obscure a record of 30 years of being on the wrong side of defense issues. and they give absolute no ibbed case based on that record of being willing to go forward and aggressively pursue the war on terror with the kind of strategy that will defeat our enemies and will guarantee the united states doesn't get attacked by the likes of al qaeda. >> we'll get back to that topic. tonight we mentioned afghanistan. we believe that osama bin laden is hiding perhaps in a cave somewhere along the afghan-pakistan border. if you get a second term, what is your plan to capture him? and then to neutralize those who have sprong up to replace him? >> when we have -- we've never let up on osama bin laden from day one. we've actual live pursued him. we've captured thous

that wasn't true. they perpetuated that lie in the u.n. when our u.n. ambassador said it was because of a youtube video, she knew better, and the president certainly did. the truth does come out. the cover-up is sometimes worse than the crime, but not in this instance when an ambassador is dead and three other americans as well. megyn: hindsight is 2020. he looked back with our ambassador dead and three others dead, we can see that security was not adequate in benghazi. but it is disturbing to hear about this according to colonel wood, that not only are we going to reduce what we have in place. >> you know, there are a couple of observations that i have to make. just three weeks ago, this happened. certainly, this serviceman has the right to speak out about what he knows. but it passes as strange to me that right now, efforts being made to buy these folks and bring them to justice, it may be disinformation. i know that brad will find this shocking, this information may assist in the effort. we do not know. wait a second, brad, to rush to judgment on this, simply because it is four we

were president of the united states and i found out my u.s. ambassador to the u.n. on national television told the american public something so far away from the truth i would want to know, why did you say that? what made you say that? if you had intelligence suggesting that was the case, why was it so wrong, and for so long? i put this on obama. they swing everything. they undercut the commanders in iraq and libya is a symptom of overall greater problem, a lack of leadership by the united states. it has caught up us with in a lot areas and is denying reality. it has caught up with us in libya and someone needs to be held accountable. >>neil: i am glad you are trying to get to the bottom of this, senator. thank you for taking the time. while this first presidential debate was limited to domestic issues the vice presidential debate covers both. libya is expected to come up tomorrow in kentucky. we are live. our courage begins at 4:00 p.m. eastern. we have senator rand paul, we have congressman from south carolina, herman cain, republican senator from new hampshire. and former in
